What are essential oils?

An Essential Oil is a naturally occurring volatile aromatic compound found in seeds, bark, roots, flowers and other parts of a plant. It is the plants protection against the environmental threats as well as playing a role in plant pollination. Correctly sourced these intrinsic benefits along with the beautiful fragrances bring us a product that we can use for a wide range of emotional and physical wellness applications. They have long been used in food preparations, beauty treatments and health care practices.

Why pay more?
You may have already purchase essential oils and are wondering why you would pay more for doTERRA oils. Did you know that the essential oil industry is unregulated? You may have purchased oils that state they are ‘pure’ however all that says is there is a minimum of 5% essential oil contained in the bottle. There is no regulation on the quality of oil and the rest of the oil contained is carrier.
In contrast a bottle of dōTERRA contains 100% oil and nothing else is added unless you buy a ‘Touch’ which is a premixed rollerball. You can also be sure that the oil is of the highest possible standard without the use of any chemicals. Before the oils can come to market they are all extensively tested to ensure they are totally pure and natural. Each bottle has a code on the bottle and you can search the source of your oil.
Why doTERRA?
Founded in 2008, doTERRA was built on the mission of sharing tested-grade essential oils with the world. Having seen for themselves the incredible benefits that can be had from using these precious resources, a group of health-care and business professionals set out to make this mission a reality. They formed a company and named it doTERRA, a Latin derivative meaning “Gift of the Earth.” 
The first hurdle to overcome, however, was to establish a standard of quality in an industry that had never had one. It wasn’t enough to simply provide essential oils to homes around the world; the doTERRA founders were committed to providing only the highest quality and purest essential oils so that families could know with surety that they were using only the best to promote health and wellness for their loved ones. This commitment lead to the creation of a new standard of quality: CPTG Certified Pure Tested Grade™.

 

Are the products organic and vegan?
All of the products are produced to the highest standard and our CPTG standard reflects this. Our oils are grown in their natural habitats without the use of any synthetic products. It is impossible to label them as vegan or organic due to the diversity of countries they are harvested from, some farmers choose to get their products tested and certified and some don’t. However, doTERRA, extensively test and also get the oils externally tested to ensure nothing gets into the product that shouldn’t and meet the CPTG standard.
 
What is Co-Impact Sourcing?
Co-Impact Sourcing is so much more than just getting oils. Rather, Co-Impact Sourcing develops long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships. Through Co-Impact Sourcing, doTERRA helps to provide the resources and education needed to improve the economy—and even sometimes create an economy—in these communities. Jobs are created as the need for an essential oil is met. Additionally, farming and distilling equipment as well as training are also provided. Additionally, farmers and distillers enter into agreements that assure them of fair and timely pay that they can rely on. But that’s not all. doTERRA’s non-profit, charitable organisation, the Healing Hands Foundation™, also plays a role in Co-Impact Sourcing. The Healing Hands Foundation steps in to help the rest of the community, providing education, building schools, and working to provide the necessities of life, such as potable water and needed infrastructure.
 
What are the benefits of having a membership?
By having a membership account you are totally in control of your ordering, rather than buying through me, meaning your order is delivered direct to your door at a discount of 25% off retail price. You can also benefit from earning points, just like with your Nectar or Club card, meaning you can enjoy converting these points into free products. Do I have to have an account to be able to purchase oils?
Not at all. You can purchase the oils directly from me at retail price. You can also set up your own retail account if you wanted so you have control over your ordering. 
 
How do I use my oils?

Once you have your oils, I will send you some ebooks to help you use your oils plus there is ongoing education available from me and Facebook groups if you would like to join in.

How do you use an essential oil?

Essential Oils can be used as single oils or as blends in 3 different methods.

Aromatically

Certain oils can be infused or inhaled for a range of benefits. Some are stimulating, others are calming and can lift your mood. Along with a fragrant aroma they can also cleanse and purify the air. 

Topically

Oils can easily be absorbed by the skin. Some can be applied safely by themselves, others may require a carrier oil (Always use a carrier oil when using on children or animals). Use for a soothing massage to reduce aches and pains or stress and much more!

Internally

Some oils you can use internally to support a variety of health issues. Add them to your daily water requirements, within food or add to a veggie capsule for targeted wellness.

A pure Essential Oil collected from a single plant, fruit, leaf, seed, root to give you the purity of all that plant can offer you. Examples of these oils would be Lavender, Lemon, Peppermint, Frankincense, Rosemary, Melissa and so many more.

Blends

A blend of Essential Oils that combined together bring a beautiful new fragrance and an amazing combination of benefits to your health and wellbeing. Examples within our range would be Air, OnGuard, and Serenity.
